Kelantan Health Department Debunk Rumours That A Monkey Tested Positive For COVID-19

Netizens recently expressed their concern after a picture of a monkey, allegedly COVID-19 positive and wearing the pink KKM wristband recently went viral on Facebook.

The Kelantan State Health Department (JKNK) denies the allegation that a monkey in Gua Musang, Kelantan tested positive for the virus.

According to Astro AWANI, its director, Datuk Dr. Zaini Hussin said his officers did not conduct any COVID-19 screening tests on animals.

“It’s unreasonable, we don’t do smear tests on monkeys,” he said when contacted by reporters on Wednesday (August 4th).
