Khairy Jamaluddin reiterated that vaccinations for children are on a voluntary basis.

He understands many parents are taking the wait-and-see approach, similar to others when the government rolled out vaccines in previous COVID immunization programs.

As such, Khairy assures that authorities will issue the latest data on the benefits and effectiveness of taking the vaccine.

It’s to give parents the opportunity to make informed decisions about getting their kids vaccinated.

As of February 1, 517,107 children aged 5 to 11 have been registered under PICKids.

According to the Health Minister, Selangor had the highest registration rate with over 130,000 kids having signed up for the injection.

Meanwhile, parents need not worry if they have yet to receive the vaccination booking link for their kids on MySejahtera.

Khairy assures that parents will receive it soon, as the links are released based on the date of registration.

Parents are also reminded to monitor their children five to seven days after they receive the shot.

Recipients are advised to avoid performing strenuous activities such as jogging and cycling for one week.
