National High Jumper Lee Hup Wei Will Be Taking A Break Until End Of This Season

National high jumper Lee Hup Wei will not be participating in any competitions including the Malaysia Open in November, even though it’s the best opportunity for him to improve his rankings.

The SEA Games champion has fallen to 104th in the world rankings after failing to set a record at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, and he is now considering retirement. 

The 34-year-old athlete from Kajang also said that he will be taking a break until the end of this season.

According to Astro AWANI, Hup Wei said that he will discuss with his wife and family regarding his future with the national squad. 

The Sepang-born athlete will not be competing in the Malaysian Open which is expected to start on November 27th.
