The government has set new SOPs for non-Muslim houses of worship in states under the Movement Control Order (MCO), Conditional MCO and Recovery MCO, after allowing them to reopen till March 4th.

For states under the MCO, the number of devotees allowed to offer prayers at their respective houses of worship is limited to only 30 at any one time, from between 6am and 2pm and 4pm and 10pm.

For states under the CMCO, the number should not exceed 50 per cent of the venue premises capacity, subject to the decision of the National Security Council (MKN) as well as the state government or the Federal Territories Ministry.

Meanwhile, premises in RMCO states can host devotees at their full capacity, and the operating hours are up to the respective managements.

This same SOP applies for Chap Goh Mei, which will be celebrated on Friday (February 26th).

The government has also reminded devotees to follow COVID-19 SOPs in our fight to flatten the curve again.

Stay safe, people!
