Malaysian Students Win Awards At Michigan State University

Three Malaysian students have made the country proud!

The students, Nurul Izzati Mohamed, Nurul ‘Iffa Nazirah Taini Achim, and Nuur Aqilah Izzati Othman, under the Public Service Department (PSD) sponsorship programme, won the Class of 2020 Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics from the College of Natural Science, Michigan State University.

In a statement, the PSD said: “A total of eight awards were contested and three awards went to Malaysian students. The awards are based on academic excellence throughout the course and the quality and potential of the study conducted.” 

The students are currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Microbiology at the university.

According to New Straits Times, both Nurul Izzati and Nurul ‘Iffa Nazirah received the Dietrich C. Bauer Scholarship Award (High Honour Distinction) while Nuur Aqilah Izzati received the Russel Duvall Endowed Scholarship Award (Research). 

What a wonderful achievement! Congratulations, girls!
