Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has announced that the Movement Control Order, or MCO has been extended to April 14th.
This is because new COVID-19 cases are still emerging, and is expected to continue.
The government will also review from time to time, if the movement control period needs to be extended beyond April 14th.
Tan Sri Muhyiddin also urged Malaysians to stay calm and not to panic, adding there’s no need to panic-buy food and daily essentials.
He adds that Malaysia has reported one more COVID-19 death, bringing our tally to 17.
The victim was a 66-year-old Malaysian, with a history of chronic illnesses.
Meanwhile, the country’s total number of coronavirus cases is now at 1,796.
This, after the Health Ministry detected over 170 new infection cases today.
